The most straightforward route is to fly into Rome and rent a car. This gives you the flexibility to explore at your own pace and directly drive to Vieste (driving time ~5 hrs).
Option 2: Rome Airport, Train to Foggia, Bus to Vieste
Train Rome-Foggia: Take a train from Rome to Foggia. You can book your train tickets through Trenitalia or Italo. Bus Foggia-Vieste: From Foggia, catch a bus to Vieste with Ferrovie del Gargano (FYI, these buses are slow).
Option 3: Rome Airport and Direct Bus to Vieste
Bus Rome-Vieste: Direct buses from Rome to Vieste are available, which might be simpler but usually take longer. You can check schedules and book tickets on the Ferrovie del Gargano or FlixBus website.
The options from Milan are similar to those from Rome, but with longer travel times due to the distance.

Option 2: Naples Airport, Bus to Foggia, Local Bus to Vieste
If there are no direct flights to Bari, consider flying into Naples.
